In the gaming industry, the hype is a powerful marketing tool. How many times have you seen a fantastic trailer for a mediocre product? How many demos have you played for games that you never bought?
Anticipation can lead to dissatisfaction… but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t excited for some of summer 2022’s video games! Today, we’re looking at some of the most anticipated video games coming out in summer 2022, hoping that these releases will live up to the hype.
1. aws Of The Lion In Gloomhaven
Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion looks like a great way to start the summer, especially if you like dark fantasy.
Gloomhaven is a tactical role-playing game based on the wildly popular board game of the same name. Jaws of the Lion is an upcoming expansion that adds a slew of new features to the game, adding to the game’s already excellent value for money.
Gloomhaven’s base game is deeper and more complex than many of its contemporaries, so Jaws of the Lion’s arrival will be especially welcome for anyone (un)lucky enough to have become enslaved to it in recent months.
2. Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong
Here’s one cunning little bloodsucker: Vampire: The Masquerade was delayed due to COVID-19.
The Masquerade – Swansong is finally approaching. If you’re looking for quality single-player games, this is something to keep an eye on — especially if you’re looking forward to Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, which has been delayed indefinitely.
3. niper Elite 5
Sniper Elite 5 is the latest installment in the methodical series, set in France near the end of World War II. 5 will, like the previous games, feature tactical third-person combat, stealth, and a variety of immersive-sim elements — and even newcomers should be able to tell that a game called “Sniper Elite” is about, you know… snipers.
Aside from gravity, wind, and heart rate, the environments in the game are also exact replicas of their real-life counterparts captured using cutting-edge photogrammetric techniques.
4. DIABLO THE IMMORTAL
To say the least, Diablo Immortal’s reception has been quite interesting in recent years.
It was first announced at BlizzCon 2018, and to say that fans were disappointed with the free-to-play MMO is like saying hellfire is hot. Diablo Immortal will be available on Android, iOS, and Windows PC on June 2.
With that said, we just hope that these games turn out to be well worth the anticipation. Stay tuned to find out more.
